Nigerian trumpeter BossBoss achieves Guinness World Record for “Longest Trumpet Marathon”

With an astonishing performance lasting 24 hours and 46 minutes, Nigerian trumpeter Joshua Olusanya, famously known as BossBoss, has shattered the Guinness World Record for the Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet, previously held by Ghantasala Satya Sai from Hyderabad, India.

Expressing his excitement, the passionate performer and music coach from Osun State stated, “All necessary evidence has been submitted to the Guinness World Record for review, and I eagerly await the official response.”

BossBoss assured that all regulations were strictly adhered to, expressing confidence in the imminent confirmation by the global record-keeping authority.

Reflecting on his journey, he shared, “With over a decade of experience in music performance and teaching, I possess the versatility to play various genres professionally. As Africa’s Trumpet Influencer, I embraced the challenge to set this record, despite the numerous obstacles. After relentless effort, I successfully played the trumpet for 24 hours and 46 minutes.”

Currently serving as the Associate Band Director at the American International School of Abuja, BossBoss has imparted his knowledge to students from over 35 different nationalities.

Recalling his musical odyssey, he recounted, “I diligently pursued both academic and practical expertise in my field. Awarded a two-year scholarship to study Trumpet Performance at the Musical Society of Nigeria (Muson), I attained a diploma in Music in 2018. I also undertook Theory of Music and achieved success in grade 8 of the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music London (ABRSM), along with a distinction in the Grade 8 Trumpet Practical examination.”

BossBoss emphasized the importance of gaining experience beyond the classroom, noting his involvement in international trips with orchestras, jazz bands, and as a guest solo artist in numerous music festivals.
